Our Privacy Policy

In our Privacy Policy, a reference to ‘us’, ‘our’ or ‘we’ is a reference to Park & Hills (ABN 68 658 678 219) and our related entities. Our Privacy Policy is provided to aid your understanding of our privacy practices including what personal information we collect, how we collect and store personal information and how we use and may disclose personal information. Our Privacy Policy also sets out how you can update or delete your personal information. Here at Park & Hills, we are committed to the personal right of people to control how their personal information is handled by others.

1. Definitions

In our Privacy Policy, capitalised terms used will have the following meanings

Privacy Act means the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Personal Information has the meaning given in the Privacy Act.

2. The What: What Personal Information we collect

2.1. We may collect the following types of Personal Information:

  1. Identification information that can reasonably identify a person including: name, martial status and date of birth.
  2. Contact details that can be used to contact you including street/mailing address, telephone numbers, email address and social media handles
  3. Device information from a device used to interact with us including IP address, device ID/type, geo-location, connection information, page views and behaviour, advertisement data, device signals and cookie data.
  4. Product/service information detailing our products and services for which enquiries have been made or that we’ve provided including any relevant dates, fees quoted or charged, feedback provided, enquiries made and any other additional information necessary to deliver those products and services or respond to enquiries.
  5. Miscellaneous information which we may collect including any further information which facilitates our interaction.

2.2. The type of Personal Information which we collect will largely depend upon the type of interaction we have with you.

3. The Why: Why we collect and use Personal Information

3.1. We may collect and use Personal Information for the following purposes:

  1. Allow access and use of our website.
  2. To communicate and respond including sending support/admin messages, providing information requested, request feedback and answer enquiries.
  3. To market and advertise including sending promotional messages and information that may be of interest to you including those of our business partners.
  4. To power our products and services and optimise their delivery including personalising the products and services to strive for the best user experience.
  5. To comply with legal obligations including regulatory requirements, dispute resolution and enforce any of our obligations to third parties including business partners.

3.2. We will use all reasonable efforts to only use your Personal Information where we have a valid legal basis.

4. The Hows: How we collect Personal Information

4.1. We may collect Personal Information either directly from you or from trusted third parties.

4.2. We may collect Personal Information directly when people:

  1. interact with our website including its content, enquiries page and advertising;
  2. communicate with us through correspondence be it through email, chats or social media; or
  3. provide it to us themselves, for example, where it’s required to facilitate their dealings with us.

4.3. We may collect Personal Information from third parties only where you have consented.

5. The Hows: How we store Personal Information

5.1. We will store Personal Information only where we need to, how long we keep it, otherwise de-identified.

5.2. We may hold Personal Information in either physical or electronic form.

5.3. We take reasonable steps to protect the Personal Information we hold from misuse, interference and loss as well as unauthorised access. The steps include administrative and technical measures.

5.4. That said, you need to be aware that no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure. Therefore, despite our best efforts, we can’t guarantee the security of your Personal Information.

6. The Whom: To whom we may disclose personal information

6.1. We may disclose Personal Information for the purposes set out above to:

  1. service providers and third-party suppliers who may perform certain tasks on our behalf including the operation of our website being WordPress and our email services and cloud storage being Google Workspace;
  2. specific third parties to whom we’ve received direct authorisation to transfer Personal Information held by us; and
  3. other persons, including government or regulatory bodies and law enforcement agencies as authorised by law.

7. The Where: Where we may disclose Personal Information

7.1. We may disclose Personal Information outside of Australia but only to service providers or third-party suppliers who provide certain tasks on our behalf but only to the extent required for them to provide their services.

7.2. For example, we may store your Personal Information in cloud or other types of networked or electronic systems with service providers domiciled in other countries.

7.3. We will take reasonable steps to arrange for your Personal Information to be stored in Australia or at least ensure that our contractual arrangements with these entities will include provisions for the safe dealing of Personal Information.

8. The When: When we will de-identify/destroy your Personal Information

8.1. We aim to keep your Personal Information for only as long as we need it. Generally, we keep Personal Information for seven (7) years after a person ceases to be an active client for legal and audit purposes. Following that, we will take all reasonable steps to either permanently de-identify Personal Information held or destroy the Personal Information once we no longer need to hold or use it for any other purpose under our Privacy Policy.

9. Your rights: Your Personal Information, your choice

9.1. Unless there are legal impediments preventing us, you will be able to access details of your Personal Information that we store.

9.2. Once you have access to your Personal Information you may correct your Personal Information that we store.

9.3. You can choose to withdraw your consent for us to collect and process your Personal Information at any time. This process may take up to three (3) business days to process your request.

9.4. However, if you choose to withdraw your consent, we may not be able to:

  1. provide you with the products or services you want;
  2. manage or administer the products or services you have with us;
  3. personalise your experience with us; 4
  4. verify your identify and/or protect against fraudulent activities; or
  5. notify you about other products or services that might be of interest to you.

9.5. You may ask us to delete your Personal Information from our storage. However, our ability to process your request will be subject to our own legal, compliance, tax, regulatory obligations.

9.6. If you have a complaint about how we handle your Personal Information, you’re always welcome to contact us. We are committed to resolving any complaint you may have and do the right thing. We’ll aim to resolve things within five (5) business days.

We may make changes to our Privacy Policy from time to time. If we need to amend our Privacy Policy, we’ll post a notification on our website.
